Not in Kansas anymore

I've been home six weeks or so and am starting to feel settled again. I spent the weekend cleaning and rearranging the house, doing some 'yard work' and bonding with the girls. We packed up most of the house for our house-sitters, so we've been slowly unpacking ever since I got home. We scored this beautiful little wardrobe from a friend who is moving to the Southern Highlands after 30 years in the mountains:

And after deciding that our shower curtain has probably seen better days, I finally unpacked one we were given as a house warming present five years ago. Since then I have managed to scare myself, good and proper, three times (I'm not kidding). I am beginning to think the old mouldy one might not be so bad after all:

I'm not sure the girls have forgiven me for going away for so long but Gum Nut is showing her love by laying us lots of little blue eggs. And standing on my feet and trailing around behind me everywhere I go. Little cutie.

That'll be Gum Nut standing on my foot...

The others are still a bit cautious but hey, I feed them, so they can learn to love me!

Love that wardrobe!

Gumnut looks very much like our Nutmeg, an Araucana x Legbar hybrid and layer of fine blue eggs!

Wales must seem a long way away now.

Hi Ceilia

Yes we're very happy with the wardrobe - didn't even have to rearrange the furniture around it, it fit the spot exactly!

Wales does seem a long way away now. It's been a bit hard settling back in to be honest but I'm enjoying the taste of spring in the air after three winters (almost) in a row!

Love the little chicks you've got!! xx

Scary shower curtain. But lovely wardrobe!
Your chookies are looking very well, beautiful and healthy. Gumnut is so cute- I think you have a soft spot for her!??

Awwwwwwww they are gorgeous and Gum Nut must be an araucana! Thought of getting one as well but the only bantam one I found was incredibly flighty. Sounds like Gum Nut is very loving though!

You're brave with the shower curtain, I'd freak myself out all the time if it was at my place!

I have wardrobe envy. And Gumnut envy, but that's nothing new.

It takes a while to settle in doesn't it. Time to absorb all those lovely new memories created, and rearrange the home front again.

I often wish someone would donate us some old furniture like that wardrobe. It's beautiful. I noticed your lovely chook bag on top too!

Of course, it's great to see Gumnut again. She's really bonded with you. I noticed Buffy too, actually it's great to see all your chooks again.

Welcome back. By the way, I've nominated you for an award on my blog. :)
